The people thay do, usually won't brag about it, and are probably old school, and tbh, kinda cheap.
"Tbh"? Also, it is a pretty cheap platform with very little aftermarket support or performance potential. TBH, these cars are perfect as daily drivers or beaters but for anyone looking to make BIG power or track driving (though the Spec-V can probably still hang), there's better platforms to get just within the last 5 years. I personally want a Fiesta or Focus ST but those are kinda rare and a bit more expensive for used than I'd like to pay currently.

You are right to a certain extent. There isn’t a big platform for these cars no but there is still stuff available and some company’s will still custom make stuff since they still have the R&D. There is a few of us that have proven with the right parts these cars can make the big power and hold it. All it takes is for one person to show its potential for ppl to grow on it and with the chassis being so cheap now it can catch on quickly. Prime example ppl thought the b13/b14 Sentra with sr20 was dead platform. 1 guy showed the sr20 can go 9s and now u have 2-3 SFWD sr20 and 2-3 serious all motor m1/nitro cars. Just my .02

I mean, sure. A lot of folks that would be INTO tuning and modifying though wouldn't do it to a Sentra. Especially not this gen when the B13 SE-R and the VQ Maxima are right there (fuck, people even swap the VQs so they don't have to deal with the QR). This car MIGHT have potential but when you've gotta have deep pockets and be willing to trailblaze a path forward on an over 20 year old platform that has so little support, an engine with a suicidal reputation, AND couldn't get built by tuners backed by a big name magazine (just assuming, I think MotoIQ is big name and they couldn't make crazy power beyond I think 600), it just doesn't seem worth it. Especially when the only big Sentra parts maker is really 2J and they're kinda shady (from what I've heard). Don't get me wrong. I love my 02 as a daily but if I was looking to build and mod, I'd honestly rather have a Fiesta, Focus, or any number of other cars. That's my .02 personally but I'd love to be wrong someday.

Not all cars get their due out the gate, but the sentra got shit on for years cause nissan cheaoed out on the motor. They did keep developing it for later years but it's a torquey work horse commuter. You can knock 2j for being shady, but EVERY company has issues with clientele complaints, we just so happen to have shit people trolling hard that are broke af interested in our cheap platform. I've met a ton of people that roadrace thus car, drag race, rally, they just aren't vocal.

Being a person who has built the QR to the balls and have done it more then once in all honesty they aren’t much more to build over anything else yes Hondas may be cheaper with much availability but they also have their weakness. The k series trans is glass and will break. To build a Subaru/Evo is much more than a Sentra. I’m not too familiar with fiesta/focus but I also haven’t seen any that r crazy fast(doesn’t mean there isn’t). As for the VQ yes it’s a better motor then the QR for sure but it also has its issues and is a total bi*ch to work on. And I have yet to see any vq in a Sentra go into deep 11s or 10s. The QR may not be a top choice for anyone but to the original question to the OP if u really want to use this motor and build it it can work for you no problem
