Ive bled over the 4g63-t too long and getting screwed on gas mileage. Ever since my friend let me drive is 01 Spec-V, Ive wanted one. Now I have one and FULLY intend on keeping it N/A.

Its nice to see that other guys out there are as crazy as I am for trading a stock turbo for an N/A though.
i like this car but it does hold water compared to my 98 gs-t or 96 talon tsi. i don't think they made spec v's for 01 but i could be wrong

Lol, no 01 specs, 02-06 and 07+.

And some don't need a pulley remover, others do. You should be able to do without one

sammy- You caught me. To be honest, I dont remember the year, but it was the first model b15 that was released. I remember because he bought it brand new from the dealer's first shipment. He actually picked it off the truck. It was the only blue one they had. OMG, I wish mine was the same color (actually, I wish mine had decent paint). It was sexy. He threw a skyline kit on it, did full suspension mods, everything under the hood (except major engine work like boring, stroking, bigger cams, etc). It was a brilliant machine. Then, thanks to a texting teenage girl in an SUV, it is totaled. When I heard this news, I almost cried FOR him. I got to drive it when it was stock and I loved it more than my (ex) DSM. My DSM could run in a straight line, but that was about the extent of it. Throw a corner in the mix and it was understeer heaven. BTW, the torque steer on the b15's arent as bad as the torque steer on a 2g DSM. You launch, and you have to hold the wheel pretty much 90 degrees to keep it straight.

I have to disagree with you on that ken. The 4g63-t motor is by a wide margin the more powerful motor. The block is pretty much indestructible and you can make power a lot easier a lot faster for a lot cheaper. They are not meant to handle though. The car is heavy (99gs-t manual is 3600 lbs, auto is 3800). I was rolling on a stock suspension. Mine liked to understeer a lot. I tried to autox it for fun with a group I used to hang with and the car didn't want to turn, just keep going. They are nice cars and I fit into mine like no other car I have ever owned (including the spec). I could only get like 200 miles out of a 12 gallon tank, and I was REALLY easy on it. Don't get me wrong, I will miss my eclipse dearly.

The QR motor is a well engineered motor, but, from what it looks like, a lot more finicky. It has a lot more low end than the 4g, but a lot LESS top end. It seems to handle a LOT better. I haven't taken the stock suspension out for its paces, but I feel a lot more confident through the corners. I, after owning this car for like 2 months, have gotten it to fit just right. I LOVE THE 6 SPEED!!!!!!! Also, the Tanabe exhaust I have on this car gets a lot of approving looks, from everyone. I can get between 275-300 to a 12 gallon tank.

Long story short: 4g63-t = Power, easy modding and hard to break QR25DE = Torque and Handling and practical.

PS: I think we may have to take this convo into another thread and try and stay on topic.

Soooooooooooooo I need a harmonic balancer pulling tool, a torque wrench, a screwdriver (to keep the pulley in place to break the bolt) and a socket wrench to actually extract the bolt?
