This applies to most cars, but I finally found out why my rear defrost wasn't working. On each side there is a wire with a box that slides onto a big male spade connector. The driver side came unglued from the copper strip and is behind the trim. Quotation is, what do I need to use to glue it back on and have it make a connection? The picture shows where it should be glued on. Please help as winter is upon us.

It's not glue, solder it back on and you will be fine.

Reminds me that I have a dead stripe that I need to find the short on my rear heating element...going to look for some fine copper solder now before I forget again, don't want to use regular solder just yet.

Thank you so much. I pulled my ac fuse so I can use my regular defrost without the ac compressor kicking on since it drags real bad and kicks on and off. I'll fix that in the spring. Only thing about that is the seals may dry out but I'll just redo the whole setup since where I work, the whole kit is cheaper and it's under warranty that way. Comes with compressor, accumulator, seals, orifice tube and what not, receiver drier, whatever our cars have.

This one thing is like the only thing that is wrong with my car and I hate it. I tried to resolder it but Im scared because I dont wanna blast the glass. I had it soldered once and I gave it a very light pull to check it and came off right away. Its a bitch. Soldering is the only way to reattatch it it seems at risk of cracking the glass.

I work in auto glass. They make a 2 part glue to put it back on. The kit is expensive and does many windows. It is from frost king. You can look around and see if you can buy a kit. If not private message me and I can probably ship you one. I think that with shipping you would be around 75$ from me. A whole sales could do better. My boss will make me mark it up and you will pay for shipping. If you are around Montgomery county Maryland I can just fix it for you.

I'm in Illinois. A glass place near mr. Will do it for a flat fee of $40 and they keep my car over night to let it set. The kit i used didn't work because i think the tiny is covering the strip it goes on. That wouldn't make sense though why the other side is fine. Idk. I'll look into the tint later when I have some daylight after work. Just looked, they cut it just at the line of the copper strip at the sides. The grid is covered. Why would it burn 2 holes whee it makes contact?

The two holes are where it was connected. Ask if the glass shop will do it while you wait. After it is glued you tape the tab on and wait 24 hours to plug it in. You could bring it back or just plug it in yourself. 40 is a good deal.

Send me a PM when you are ready. If it is after hours you can just meet me at my house. It doesn’t take long at all. I just have to make sure I have a good kit.
