Now that I got my new radio installed, I can fully tell that the factory fronts are terrible. Wanted to go with a crisp component set for the front but they are 2.8" mounting depth.

I looked on Crutchfield and it said front hold 2.788.

My question is, can I make them fit Nicely or should I surface mount them cutting out an insert for them?
if I have to go surface is there anyone will some experience to explain what not to do?

I know there's other options, that will fit without cutting, but I want to know from others how much work and how it looks after; if done right of course

The speakers will come with I believe 2 different adapters/brackets. Just use whatever fits and test it by rolling the window all the way down.

Now that I remember, I had to use one to space it out because it would hit the window. It will not interfere with the door panel.
