Was the B15-B17's the last good platform of Nissan?

This guy seems to think so. Scotty Kilmer who has a rather large Youtube presence "2mil" subscribers thinks so and actually loves the SER. I haven't seen any posts on this so here it is. Granted this vid is 3yrs old but still a good one.

I take him with a grain of salt.
It's hard to say ya know better than an elder Mechanic.
This guy is a joke in the technician world. 95% of what he says is over generalized and exaggerated. the 5% that is accurate usually pertains to removing bolts.

IMO it was the b13, independent rear and a 2 door option.
Actually guy's the point of the post wasn't about Scotyy's ability or lack thereof of his mechanical skills. It was only about the SER and and him actually liking the platform. I just stumbled on the video and liked it, which is contrary to the hate the Sentra gets
Well just to show why i said that. He makes a comment about all modern sentra's having head gasket issues.....That's news to me.....Who works almost exclusively on Nissan Jukes and Sentra's....and worked at nissan for the b17 launch + 2 years....Nissan's in general don't have "head gasket problems".

That's a meme. He's alive.
did newer models than B15 have the CVT transmission which supposedly has a high failure rate over 100k miles or so ? in any case i cant see a drivetrain with a steel belt lasting that long .
dont B15's last 200k miles plus without major motor repairs.. asuming u change oil ect
No b15 sentras (2000 - 2006) had cvts. My 2012 altima has 140k with a cvt, and only had a slight noise at 110 that went away as fast as it came.
Had an '87 B12 E 2 door, '93 se-r, '06 1.8s and now '04 1.8s. Of all of them the B13 was more enjoyable because of the simplicity. The B15 is more comfortable. My current B15 has 228,000miles on it now and runs strong and still don't have to add oil between changes.

I hear ya. I pretty much abuse my car on a daily basis for the last 3 years and have had 0 trouble with the engine/transmission that wasnt my own fault. Have had it for about 25k miles. Got it at 95975. Its at about 119k.
