lighten car

for more power you will need the 2jr header for bi6s and resonated midpipe
\not quite in production and for sale yet

i ran 3" exhaust with the hotter cams

you are now fully bolted
should be up around 210-220whp
[conservative guess]

to go further, you will need forged rods and pistons
built short block

use the stock block and add the turbo kit

the only thing i can document on the dyno
but hate to start that argument again

on my car
going from a DC header to the 2JR header pictured on my car
was a 26hp gain over the DC header,

engine basics:
engine had 2jr plenum, 2jr cai, JWT c1 cams,2jr resonated, catted 3" midpipe and 3" exhaust, shaved head [not recommended], b16 rotating assembly, balance chain removed

Thanks for all the information. The medusa header looks intense and looked it up on their website, whats the difference between the medusa and a megan header with power? what changes? and for V2 cams is it just drop and go? without changing springs, lifter buckets and adjusting clearances? Turbo seems like a nightmare on a N/A engine without a good tune. Ive been reading about slapping a turbo on this platform but looks like problem after problem if Its not done right but we will see where this project takes me! its kind of a DD car I also have a Toyota Tacoma I use for work.
changing springs and using titanium retainers is recommended.
however ,i use the springs and oem retainers,

i don't go over 6800 rpm now
[if you keep the stock rev limit no new springs required, imo]

checking valve clearance is vital with any cam change
i only had to buy 2 new lifter buckets and that was with c1 cams, most radical then available
[head must be ground for lobe clearance, with c1s]

to turbo stock motor
the tune is vital on a stock motor, flash tune even before startup
then retune on the dyno
for turbo this is a must
imo

by now it has been done 100s of times safely on qr25de's
limited boost, well tuned

personal opinion now
i don't trust turbos for DD drivers

that said
check shanovers build
more rad than mine
and used daily
