i use a go pro but that would work great! i wish i thought of that before buying the gopro

Seems like a lot of work! I use this iPhone car mount in my ride currently, but ive been told this RAM mount is the shizz

 

I always worry about suction cup mounts falling. I've seen it happen too many times, especially in racing. That why I chose to make the headrest mount that I did. After making it though I found this: Products - CruiseCam. I'm sure it works just as well as what I made. I just spent less making it than I would have buying it.

 

I would only trust a suction cup like that inside the car. Lol

 

You'd be surprised at what those suction cup mounts can handle. There is a clamp that tightens the mount to make the mount more secure. I've taken my GoPro on the Highway at 70 MPH with no problem.

What kind of cameras are you guys using??

 

I use a JVC Everio with a headrest mount that I made that's similar to the Race Mount. The go pros are great, but I don't have the expendable funds right now to buy a sports specific camcorder right now and I always worry about them falling off since I've seen it happen so much in autocrossing even though I know they're tough enough to handle the fall. Usually the ones that fall people just pic up and put back on their car.
