HOW TO N2MB 2-step installation and Programing

For the 02-06 specv

HOW TO PROGRAM THE N2MB WITH YOUR COMPUTER

Download Software 3.2 version Software - N2MB Racing

Hook up your usb to serial adaptor and n2mb device to the computer. Once it’s connected you will notice the device downloading the adaptor. When d/l is complete, A COM Port number should appear. If not, go to the search tab on the start button on your computer and type in device manager, open that up and go down to Port/devices, Open that up and you’ll see your COM Port number.





Turn the key to the "ON" position. Run/Open the 3.2 software.

You will see select COM PORT on the top right of the screen. Now pick the right port number.

Click READ on the top right. This will bring up your current programed n2mb. Now insert the settings below.

LAUNCH CONTROL
ENABLED is checked. And next to it you’ll see RPM. type in the rpms you want your car to do the 2step and walk it out….

Uncheck ALTERNATIVE RPM. You won’t be needing this.

LOCK OUT RPM- set to 1500

TPS threshold (V)- Enable check


GLOBAL SETTINGS
Number of cylinders- 4
RPM SOURCE- select OTHER FUEL INJECTOR, (scroll all the way to the bottom)
Make sure the CLUTCH INVERTED IS checked
Make sure TPS/APP INVERTED is NOT checked.


NO LIFT SHIFT
Click Enable and auto. If you do this the WOT Box will automatically adjust the kill time to your shift time, up to a maximum of 350 ms

REV LIMITER, SHIFT LIGHT and NITROUS WINDOW SWITCH was not an option to change. Unless you have one hooked up to your n2mb

Now click WRITE on the upper. It will program these settings and keep them.
Click READ. The clutch and tps on the lower left under VEHICLE SNAPSHOT should both say UP when your foot is off the pedals

*If you want to go to expert mode, Click Options then type in the password PIDControl SPELL IT JUST LIKE IT IS. I haven personally messed with expert mode settings since I need to understand it a lil better.

* Make sure you keep your foot off the clutch when not shifting. The slightest touch on the clutch will trigger the clutch sensor and will not work with the No lift shift. Your car will cut off/bog if it is touched during WOT

Trouble shooting. This happend to me already. The usb to serial adaptor that came with the kit was not compatable with my laptop *windows7. Every time i tried to click the read button in the program it will say the computer is not reading the device choice the right com port. all this time i thought it was the wrong com port or something was wrong with my n2mb or it wouldnt work cuz i had a windows 7 computer which is having problems with the new 3.2 software. I resloved it by buying a different name brand usb to serial adaptor which was only about 7 bucks. hooked it up and it gave me the port number automatically and i was able to click read on the software and acutally get the program working.

Troubleshooting ‐ Testing the WOT Box
1. Key on the car but do not start the engine. Press the gas pedal to the floor. You should see the LED on the
WOT Box start to rapidly blink. If it does not, check your APP sensor signal connection (WOT Box BLUE
wire).

2. Next, with the gas pedal still depressed, press the clutch pedal to the floor. You should see the LED on the
WOT Box briefly go out, and then come back on solid for one second and then finally resume blinking
rapidly. If you do not see this, check your Clutch Pedal Position Switch signal connection (WOT Box
GREEN wire).

3. Next, start the engine. Quickly press the gas pedal to the floor and immediately step on the clutch. You
should hear the engine start to rev up, stumble for a short period while the ignition is cut, then return back
on and continue revving. Remove your foot from the gas before you hit the rev limiter. The 2‐step will not
engage if the gas is depressed before the clutch. This is normal. If the engine does not stumble or pause
when the LED turns out, then check the RED/BLACK paired wire. Verify that the RED and BLACK 16 AWG
wires are wired facing the proper way. If they are reversed, the ignition cut will not work.

4. Lastly, test the 2‐Step. Press the clutch pedal down and then quickly press the gas pedal all the way down.
The gas pedal must be floored for the 2‐step to engage. The engine should rev up to the desired RPM and
hold. If it does not, be sure to remove your foot from the gas before you hit the rev limiter. If the 2‐step
does not work, check the WOT Box YELLOW wire.

^ thats wut i was tring to tell u, they might of revised the instructions for each wire. Thats y i was confused about that Yellow wire. The CD is so u can control wut rpm u want the 2 step to kick in, not sure how BigJ showed u how to do it without having something to manage it when it should kick in.

i got it from berry it didnt come with any instructions, but one line they say hook it up the same way you have it on here, im gonna mess with it some more tonight and try to figure it out,

na i got all the right pins, i know how to look at the ecu connectors, i work on cars for a living, im not trying to be a dick by saying that. i think i might have a software issue with the cable from the box to the computer.

the box on barry's car was a a prototype box from about 2-3 years ago.

It will crash after flashing with the cable if you try more than one operation, it's a pain in the ass. The box I have on my car is a production box, and it's fine.

Try setting the box using the button and not the cable.

yea the blue led flashes when i push the clutch and the gas down i went tru all the steps. i tried both just the box and with the cable ill try going under the advance setting now. i did noticed on here yall say take the red toward the coil and the black towards the ecu. but on there site it say take the black towards the coil and the red towards the ecu. ill try swapping that but i doubt that will fix it.

i tried switching the wires on the coil that made the car run like some shit, so i dont know if just the box is bad or what i have checked and triple check everything seems like its fine but i dont know
